The Institute of Community Health and Allied Medical Sciences (ICHAMS) of the Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU), South La Union Campus (SLUC) is located in Agoo, La Union.

Currently, the institute offers Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and Diploma in Midwifery programs. Graduates of both programs have performed well in the licensure examination bringing the institute on top of the other midwifery and nursing schools in the region which greatly contributed to the success of the organization. Furthermore,  the institute have already produced many topnotchers in the Midwifery Licensure Examinations. 

Adding to these achievements are the successful alumni who are now working in various fields of their profession in the country and overseas such as Middle East, New Zealand, United States of America and United Kingdom.

These were all achieved because of the competitive workforce of the institution, active involvement of the students and parents, and with the aid of the strong partnership with the institute's linkages. In addition, the institute continually provides an environment conducive to health and learning more so that the municipality of Agoo egains its title as the Cleanest and Greenest Municipality of La Union and it also bagged the hall of fame award in the much-coveted  UNESCO Confucius Prize for Literacy.
